Located just less than 10 kilometers from the city centre, the remarkable 117sq.km park gives visitors a chance to see almost eight species of big mammals that would be found in the Serengeti or Maasai-Mara, A 2-3 hr game drive In the park is enough for visitors on work holiday to sample the best the park has to offer. The park has no elephants because of its size but the rest of the wildlife can be seen with ease. As the threat of WW2 intensified, the commonage was turned in to a training field for the king African rifles which resulted in destruction of the wildlife habitat.
